Prema Construction is a well-established family business in Prévost, in the Laurentians. For over 25 years, we have been delivering commercial, industrial, and institutional projects across Canada. We are now looking to expand our team with a motivated, thorough, and passionate superintendent.

Requirements

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Minimum of 3 years in site management or supervision

Experience

  • Managing work crews
  • Coordinating subcontractors
  • Planning and monitoring construction activities
  • Managing unexpected site issues

Technical Knowledge

  • Reading and interpreting plans and specifications
  • Construction methods and sequencing
  • Quality control of work
  • Monitoring site progress
  • Estimating and planning construction work

Regulatory Knowledge

  • Québec Construction Code
  • Safety regulations required by the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST)
  • Owner/client standards and procedures

Management Skills

  • Leadership and team management
  • Organization and planning
  • Time and priority management
  • Problem-solving
  • Ability to make quick decisions on site

Communication Skills

  • Communicate with workers and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with engineers and project managers
  • Write site reports
  • Participate in coordination meetings

Certifications and Training

  • ASP Construction card (construction site safety)
  • WHMIS training
  • Construction site management training
  • Health and safety training

Administrative Skills

  • Maintain a site logbook
  • Track construction progress
  • Document incidents or non-compliance issues
  • Use computer tools (Excel, project management software such as Fieldwire)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Working outdoors and on-site
  • Frequent movement around the construction site
  • Ability to work in an active construction environment
